Transfer Not Adhering Properly
- Lay it back down and press again with added pressure and heat (+8°C).
- If that doesn't work, increase temperature by increments of 8°C until it transfers correctly.
Remember: Repeated pressing won't damage the transfer.
Watch our step-by-step DTF Pressing Tutorial to ensure you get a perfect press every time.

Pre-pressing or pre-ironing is not necessary with Ninja Transfers. No need to remove moisture or wrinkles — just lay your garment on the press and you're ready to go. Only do a prepress if you prefer.
Pro Tip: If you're pressing onto a garment or surface you haven't worked with before, we recommend doing a small test press first to confirm the settings and ensure the best results.

Position your transfer in the desired location and make sure it is flat before pressing. You can press across seams, for example on 6-panel hats and side seams of t-shirts. Heat-resistant tape is recommended when pressing on hats or when using a household iron to prevent the transfer from moving. You'll learn when it's needed with experience.

Press the transfer at 150-155°C with medium to high pressure for ~12 seconds. It's recommended to test your settings using a spare garment. Use the baking parchment provided to protect the transfer and garment from touching the iron directly. Let cool a few seconds, then peel!
A household iron has no even heat plate and no built-in pressure, so technique is everything. Set the iron to its highest cotton / linen setting with steam OFF and the water reservoir empty. Work on a hard, flat surface — not a padded ironing board.
Cover the transfer with the provided baking parchment and press straight down with firm, full-body-weight pressure for ~12 seconds (target plate temp 150-155°C). Press in small circular motions across the entire design so every part of the design, including edges and corners, gets continuous heat.
With our proprietary Ninja Peel Technology, you can peel hot or cool. Wait a few seconds (or longer) and peel. If any part of the design lifts while peeling, lay the transfer back down and press again with firm pressure for another 10–15 seconds.
Pro Tip: Irons give the least consistent results. Use heat-resistant tape to stop the transfer shifting, and re-press any corner or thick area that starts to lift.
Set your Handheld Craft Press to 150-155°C and place the garment on a firm EasyPress mat or other hard, flat surface — never a soft ironing board.
Cover the transfer with the provided baking parchment and press with firm, even downward pressure for ~12 seconds, keeping the plate flat and steady. If the design is larger than the plate, press in overlapping sections so every part gets the full time. Let cool a few seconds, then peel.
Pro Tip: The Handheld Craft Press heats evenly, but you supply the pressure — press straight down firmly and resist the urge to rock or slide the plate.

Important: While the majority of other DTF companies advise you to press it just once, this is improper. After hundreds of wash tests, we have found that a final press is imperative to create a superior product.
After the design is transferred onto the garment, with the film peeled off, cover the design with provided baking parchment or a single layer of T-shirt material and press for ~12 seconds. This greatly improves durability and softness while reducing shine.

With the film fully peeled off, cover the design with baking parchment and press again for ~12 seconds. This locks the ink into the fibres and greatly improves durability and softness.

Even with perfect technique, issues can sometimes arise. Here's what to watch out for:
Remember: Repeated pressing won't damage the transfer.
For best results and longevity, wash the garment inside out in cold water and dry on low heat or hang to dry. Washing it with standard settings works fine too, but as with anything, it lasts longer with more delicate handling.
